solo exhibitionMy recent work has explored the ingrained stereotypes of perceived LGBTIQ+ lives perpetuated by mainstream news media; one such trope implies the Queer community is eternally hedonistic and continually seeking pleasure through lifestyle choices.
This latest body of work immerses the viewer in a world of vibrant colour and fluid movement, where the lines between reality and fantasy blur.
"I have tried to capture the euphoria of being in a nightclub, as a place of refuge, surrounded by freedom and movement and the safety of community".
These paintings are a love letter to the LGBTIQ+ community, showcasing the unbridled joy of being able to dance and express oneself freely and openly in a safe environment.
